Italy's biggest utility Enel plans to hire up to 2,000 workers by 2026 to boost its energy distribution business in the country, sector trade unions said on Thursday after negotiations with the company.
Revolut says it has 10,000 employees globally, up from "just over 8,000" at the start of the year. It plans to increase its workforce further to 11,500 by the end of 2024, a 40% boost overall.
The planned recruitment drive will encompass a diverse range of positions across sales, marketing, operations and customer service, according to a statement.
Bandhan Life's MD and CEO, Satishwar B, said, "Our vision for the next five years is set... We will expand our presence across all relevant product categories, thereby enhancing the services we provide." He added, "We have heavily invested in technology and data-driven processes to keep pace with our strategy of using tech as an enabler. This combination will help us achieve our goal of growing with the new Bharat."
The quest for lucrative employment opportunities faces a hurdle this placement season at the esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). As companies reduce their hiring and provide reduced salary packages, students towards the end of the line are receiving offers with annual packages below Rs 10 lakh. Companies that would select several students are now choosing only one or two.
"We are looking to build strength and capability in some technology areas. I am specifically referring to skills in data and skills in AI. We are adding 50 per cent additional strengths in these two spaces. We expect to grow our total team to around 3,500 people (this fiscal)," Noventiq India president Vinod Nair told PTI.
Launchpad Kerala 2024, a month-long talent acquisition programme organised by the Kerala Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Group of Technology Companies (GTech) across the state, piloted the new hiring process, the GTech release said.
Giving details of the placements, LNMI director S Siddharth said the students of the institute have once again come up with flying colors and shown impeccable results in terms of placement. “The institute witnessed placement in record numbers, not just in terms of the line-up of offers but also in the jump in top packages and average salaries,” he said.
Citing information from multiple colleges, Moneycontrol reports that freshers are being hired via the National Qualifier Test (NQT). Designed by TCS iON, NQT is a skills assessment platform that evaluates candidates' cognitive abilities and job-specific expertise. It's used by companies for recruitment, not just within the Tata Group (TCS, Titan) but also by external firms.
Sber has hired frontend developers, team leaders, testing engineers, system and business analysts, among others. Last year, it set up a major IT unit in Bengaluru that houses Sberbank's in-house data processing centre and employs 200 people.
However, according to the records of the Training and Placement Cell at UIET, of the 600 students enrolled, 498 were eligible for placements due to factors like having a CGPA of 6 or higher and few backlogs, however, only 315 got placed, implying that around 36.7% of eligible students are still without offers.
